Covid-19 Update

Posted December 7, 2020

Dear Local 3 members,

We are living in uncharted territory due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Health Officer of the County of Alameda has established SIP (Shelter in Place) Order 20-21 which supersedes the existing SIP Orders number 20-15 and 20-17. The new SIP Order is effective at 12:01 a.m. December 7, 2020.

Bottom line is we can continue working as we are classified as “essential workers” by the state of California but understand that cases are multiplying exponentially so it is of utmost importance that you wear your masks and take every precaution such as washing your hands and observing social distancing from each other.

The primary intent of this Order is for the County of Alameda to slow the spread of COVID-19 and mitigate the impact on delivery of critical health care services. Hospitalizations have increased and this Order is to help mitigate that increase in which a collapse of our local health care system can occur.

Stay Safe & Healthy!
