Work Outlook

Posted September 20, 2022

Brothers and Sisters,

I just wanted to give you all a quick outlook on work in the Sacramento area. Right now, the Richards Boulevard Office Complex has put quite a few painters to work. A&B Painting is doing this job. There are 4 building and a parking structure. Two of the Buildings are being held up by failed inspection’s, so drywall has been slow going for those buildings. Level 5 has these two buildings. I spoke to the Taping foreman for Level 5 and he says hopefully soon they will be able to get into production and they plan on running a crew in each building. I haven’t received any calls for any Tapers from the out of work list, but I have been getting members called by name. My advice to anyone not working right now is to get out there and make the phone calls to the foreman or superintendents for shops. The courthouse is beginning to pick up. It looks like the exterior is getting closed-up so interior finishes will be starting soon. Raymond Interiors is doing the drywall and Veterans Painting out of L.A. is doing the paint. I spoke to the owner of Veterans Painting and he said he plans on using Local manpower for the project because he does not have anyone willing to come up from L.A. He is currently in the process of interviewing local Painters for the foreman position. If you would like to get in touch with him, you can call the hall for contact info.  There are also several school projects getting ready to start so work looks like it will pick up a bit.

In solidarity,

William Gonzalez
