STAR and New Member Orientation

Posted September 15, 2022

Brothers & Sisters of Local 83,

This past weekend was the STARS event in Livermore. There was a great turnout – and as promised, amazing prizes! My only complaint is I didn’t see enough local 83 members at the event so be sure to get yourself qualified for next year. You have to complete at least 16 hours of STAR sponsored training with 8 hours being the SCT-1 class. This class fills up fast so make sure you register soon. The next two will be in the South Bay and East Bay. The South Bay location will at the Hilton Santa Clara 4949 Great America Parkway on 10/15/22 from 7am to 3:30pm. The East Bay location will be held at the Double Tree by Hilton Berkeley Marina 200 Marina Boulevard, Berkeley on 11/19/2022 from 7am to 3:30pm. Congratulations to all who attended. You earned it!

Finally, if you received a letter about an orientation in the coming weeks or months – THIS IS MANDATORY. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me.

 In solidarity,

 Business Representative LU83

 Brent Hudson 707-765-6870.

The convention kicked off with a touching speech from our sister, who talked about how proud she is of her journey as an apprentice and the personal growth she’s experienced. We covered a lot about the challenges brought by COVID-19 and how IUPAT temporarily waived dues […]
