WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !

Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you to the members who attended the recent Chili Cook Off fundraiser for Avila’s Cancer Fund. Thanks to the generosity of District Council 16 and our affiliated Local Unions the event was a great success. Both myself and Brother Juan Rosales competed in the Chili Cook off and I am very humbled (ok maybe I am not being humble and am bragging a bit) to inform you that I won the Peoples Choice Award. POWER TO THE PEOPLE! In doing so I received a trophy and a Chef’s Apron and $250.00 cash. In the spirit of the event I donated the money back to Avila’s Cancer Fund in the name of DC16 / LU294. It was a great day for everyone and we intend to keep supporting Avila’s Cancer Fund with their events in the future. If you did not attend we would strongly recommend that you get out there next year.

                LET’S PARTY!!!!!!!

Do to the Pandemic we have not had a Holiday Party in the past couple of years. But now that we seem to have control of that issue the executive board recommended to the membership at the last regular Union Meeting to proceed with a Holiday Party in 2022. Just as in the past it will be a potluck event. We will also hold a free raffle and have a beverage or two. The party will be an Adult only event and begin at 4pm on Saturday December 17th, 2022. It will also be a VAC event for those who wish to show up at noon that same day and help set up, and for anyone that stay’s after and helps clean up. We will be sending out invitations with more details through our UNITE membership texting and E Mail computer Program and by USPS, please keep your eyes and ears open for the invite and RSVP as early as possible we need a head count for the event.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!
