|Melvin Herring |
If you don’t know Melvin Herring, that’s because he worked for the San Francisco Housing Authority for the past 20 years.
Melvin started glazing fresh out of high school in 1983 doing hack-outs for a non-union shop. In 1996 Melvin joined the union with Local 169 and worked for Hayward Glass. Shortly after, Melvin transferred to Local 718 and worked for United California Glass and a handful of other shops before getting hired at the San Francisco Housing Authority in 2002. For the past 20 years Melvin has been the Housing Authority’s go-to guy for hack-outs and replacements.
Freshly retired, Melvin has 25 years of service with Glaziers Local 718. I would like to recognize Melvin for his lifetime of service and congratulate him on his retirement.
