Effective Jan 1st 2026: OSHA, Scaffold Training

Hello DC16 membership. Due to the weather forecast this Saturday 15th 2025 the CBTU-NCC/ Local 3 Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up at 6672 Oak port St., Oakland has been canceled. If you still need more VAC events to qualify for next year’s banquet visit the DC16 website and check the calendar for upcoming events in your area. There are still plenty of opportunities for you and your family to qualify.

On October 24th we held our first ever DC16 Safe Halloween Trunk or Treat event at or old training facility located at 2020 Williams St in San Leandro. This was a night that was filled with happiness and joy as our members brought out their families to enjoy food, games, good music, fun times and smiles. I would like to thank all our community partners and the people that helped make this event possible. Seeing the smiles of our membership, their families and their children as they enjoyed the decorations at each booth, the amazing art on the walls that our membership contributed to, the various costumes and of course, the candy, is what this event was all about. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year when we plan to make this event bigger and better!

On Saturday, November 8th DC16 and Local 3 had the honor and privilege to participate in the Castro Valley/ Eden Area Light Parade with Assembly Labor Committee Chair Liz Ortega. This was a last-minute scramble to get Mrs. Ortega a float together but with the help of her team and DC16 we were able to get everything together in a flash and we all had a great time. The parade went from 3-9pm and featured several amazing floats, merry music, fun filled booths, a petting zoo, vendors, food, drinks and shopping. There were over 5000 people in attendance from all over the bay area and it was an amazing night filled with fun, laughter and joy for the holiday season. Next year we plan on making this a VAC event so make sure you pay attention to your calendars.
