Where Did It All Go?

Posted March 2, 2022

Brothers and Sisters,

The current 3-year contract is worth $9.00 over 3 years.  Our last and final wage allocation of $3.00 became effective as of January 1, 2022.  Where did all the money go?  Below is a breakdown of the last 3 wage allocations by year, this is where the Members voted to allocate their raise.

We have slowly been increasing our JATTF (apprenticeship) contribution when we were asked to get it to $1.00, 2 years ago.  We need to raise this contribution to pay our share.  Wage Equality (market recovery) has created many work hours for the members of Local 1237.  This is a fund that I would like to see increase to $2.00 as quick as possible.  The IUPAT DCO (dues check off) was put in place at the last IUPAT General Convention in effort to help out the members.  Dues will not be raised under the current IUPAT Constitution, instead for every hour worked the member will contribute $0.10 an hour.  This will make it less of a strain on members who find themselves out of work for a period of time.  I’m pleased that we were able to pay ourselves and still use our increases to help one another gain more hours.  As always, I can be reached at (916) 407-8279.
