Required Certifications

Brothers and Sisters,

This is a reminder to all journeymen to stay current on your required certifications. Keeping your certs up to date is your responsibility and helps ensure there are no delays when it comes time for dispatch. If you need to obtain or renew a certification, please visit the STAR website for the most up-to-date class listings and requirements.

I want to highlight that classes are now being held in Watsonville and San Jose. This is a service your Business Representatives worked on directly with the school to bring classes closer to members’ homes and reduce unnecessary travel.

As always, STAR credit classes are also available on Saturdays in Tracy. Additionally, there may be weekday classes available as well—if you reach out to your Business Representative and our administrative staff in the office, we can help identify what options are currently available.

If you are in a pinch and need a certification immediately, glaziers are permitted to take the class online at their own expense, and it will be accepted for dispatch purposes.
