Congratulations to Local 567 President Brother Barry Williams on 25 years of service in the IUPAT. Brother Williams started his journey locally in Northern Nevada in June of 2000 working for Tom Johnson Painting. Tom Johnson Painting had recently become a union contractor during an organizing campaign against the company where Barry was working as a non-union painter. With the company turning into a signatory contractor, brother Williams was able to sign up with Local 567 and started receiving better pay and benefits.

During the latter half of the year 2000 Barry transferred to Salt Lake City to work on construction projects for the 2002 Winter Olympics at Park City Utah. During his time at Local 77 he also became the apprentice coordinator for that area.

Fast forward to June 2006 when brother Williams transferred back to Northern Nevada and deposited his clearance card with local 567. He has since been working as a foreman for the biggest painting contractors in the region and completed notable projects all along the city of Reno and Sparks skyline.
