WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Posted August 22, 2025

Brothers and Sisters,

We have a very important VAC Event coming up next week on Tuesday, August 26th at 5:30 PM.

Working with the San Joaquin Building and Construction Trades Council, we were able to get the City Council to consider and move forward with a City-Wide Community Workforce Training Agreement. This is a huge win—if approved, projects that meet certain criteria will be required to use 100% Union contractors. That means more opportunities for our members to work on these projects.

To make this happen, we need our members—especially those living in Tracy—to show up and show support. The Council needs to see and hear from the community that this matters. This agreement will also include a local hire requirement, ensuring that a percentage of workers come directly from the Tracy community.

📍 Where & When:
333 Civic Center Drive, Tracy, CA 95376
5:30 PM – Tuesday, August 26

Once we sign in for VAC, we’ll head into the City Hall Chambers together to fill the room with Union members.

Please wear your Local Union gear—we’re working on getting shirts, but if you already have DC 16 or Local swag, wear it proud.

Let’s stand together, make our voices heard, and show the community that DC 16 is strong and united.

In Solidarity,
William Gonzalez
