You Pay Into It, Use It
Posted February 6, 2026
Brothers and sisters,
I hope this article finds you well and you and your family preparing for spring and looking for some sunny days. Work has started to pick up a little and several companies are preparing for upcoming projects. If you are currently not working, please make sure to get yourself on the out of work list. You can do this by calling the union hall at (916) 393-2742. Part of the local 1237 bylaws if you have not worked for a period more than 90 days and are on the out of work list you could request to have your dues paid. Below is the language from the local 1237 bylaws regarding dues assistance.
LOCAL 1237 By-Laws

Attending doctor’s certificate must be forwarded to
the Union office before a claim will be considered. The certificate must be filed within 60 days from the date of illness or disability.
