SALINAS AIR SHOW — VOLUNTEER & EARN YOUR VACs!

Along with the opportunity to attend this year’s Salinas Air Show, you also have a great chance to complete some—or even all—of your DC16 VAC events!

WHAT ARE VAC EVENTS?

VAC events are volunteer and community service opportunities through District Council 16. They give our members an opportunity to get involved outside of the workplace, support our communities, help great causes, and represent DC16 and Local 1621.

VAC events can include volunteering at community events, charity events, union-sponsored activities, and other opportunities where we can give back and show what being a union member is all about.

And remember—VAC events aren’t just for union members! Your family, friends, and anyone else who wants to volunteer and help support the community can participate.

SALINAS AIR SHOW

Because the Salinas Air Show is a three-day event, this is a great opportunity to knock out several—or possibly even all—of your VAC requirements in one weekend!

You get to volunteer, support a great community event, represent Local 1621 and DC16, and enjoy the Salinas Air Show at the same time.

DC16 VAC BANQUET

Members who complete the required VAC participation can qualify for the DC16 VAC Banquet held later in the year.

The VAC Banquet is DC16’s way of recognizing and thanking the members and families who took the time to volunteer and give back throughout the year.

It’s a great family event with dinner, raffle prizes, and activities for both kids and adults. Most importantly, it’s a chance for everyone to come together and celebrate the members and families who continue to support our union and our communities.
