In the last couple of weeks, I have been visiting jobsites and I have a few comments and concerns. It seems that members like to wear their safety glasses on their head not over their eye. It is very important that fall protection is worn at all times.
If OSHA catches workers not using fall protection the employer and employee can be removed from the project and fined. During the summertime in the Sacramento Valley the temperature can rise above triple digits. You may be on a roof, swing stages of against metal panels and the temperature may be up to 15 degrees more then the reported temperature. Please make sure you drink plenty of water and stay hydrated and start hydrating before work. Lots of projects have Heat Illness Stations please take advantage of these. Please make sure you protect your skin as to avoid possible skin cancer down the road.
The most important thing in all our lives is to be safe and go home to our families every night!
