November Elections

Posted October 16, 2026

Election Day.

Election day is Tuesday November 3. Mail in ballots have already gone out and most of you have probably already received them. Although this year is not a Presidential election year, There are still plenty of important things to decide on this election cycle.

One of if not the most important Statewide Ballot Measure is Proposition 45. To put it bluntly, 45 is the biggest attack on Unions in recent history. It is presented as the “Build back California” bill. But what it really does is strip prevailing wage and other worker protections that Unions have fought so hard to secure & protect. It wont make building “cheaper”, it will just put the money cut from wages into developers and owners pockets. If you remember one thing on this years ballot, let it be NO on 45.

Connie Chan is running to take retired Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Connie has always been a friend of the Building Trades and not afraid to do the right thing, even when it’s tough. Her opponent, Scott Weiner, on the other hand has proven to do the opposite. Scott has shown us more than once that he will say one thing, and do another.
