DC16 joined in support with the SEIU in front of city hall in protest of the 300+ vacant city worker positions. These jobs remain unfulfilled while members sit at home not working, and the members working are stretched thin on their duties. The city was using the Pandemic as an excuse on why they were keeping the numbers down. But now with things slowly returning to a sense of normalcy the workers have spoken and said “ITS TIME TO STAFF UP SAN FRANCISCO!” These aren’t just vacant jobs that SCIU members could be doing to provide for themselves and their families, they’re also jobs that the city had previously put into the budget. This means that a lack of money is no excuse as it was already allocated for this purpose. (Pictured Below)

The West Bay Team took part in Halfmoon Bay Career day. Through the pandemic we have been doing virtual craft presentation Via Zoom with local High Schools and Trade programs. It was nice to get out in person and show the kids the tools and to see so many young people are interested in the trades. (Pictured Below)
