Local 567 Steward Training

Posted April 3, 2026

Local 567 will be holding Steward training this month for members.

What is a Steward?

A union steward (or shop steward) is a coworker elected or appointed to act as the on-site representative for a union. They are “front-line” defenders of worker rights who enforce the collective bargaining agreement (contract), investigate grievances, and represent employees in discussions with management. They act as a liaison between union members in the shop and union leadership. They also inform coworkers/members about their rights, union policies, and encouraging participation in union activities.

What day is the training and how long?

The training will take place on Saturday 8:00am April 18th 2026, and will last about 2-3 hours. Snacks and drinks will be provided to all members at the training. And the training will be located at the Local 567 Union Hall (1819 Hymer Ave. Sparks, NV)
