Local 1237 By-Laws

Posted January 1, 2021

The By-Laws Committee chaired by President Robert Ringor have working very hard over the past few months.  They have a final draft and we will be voting on them as soon as District Council 16 By-Laws have passed.  Copies of the proposed By-Laws will be sent to every member’s house prior to the ratification date.  Please take some time and read them, if they are passed, we will live by the proposed by-laws for the next 5 years.

Some things that have been proposed to be taken out of the by-laws is the $10.00 missed meeting assessment and the $5.00 death assessment.  There will be a reduction of quarterly dues to $35.00 a month (currently $45.50 a month) or $105.00 a quarter (currently $136.50 a quarter).  That’s a reduction of $31.50 a quarter.  All death benefit premiums will be paid out of the Benefit Fund for all members in good standing.  The By-Laws Committee has proposed an increase in the hourly Members Benefit contribution from 3% (current by-laws) to 6% of the taxable net wage.

Again, please read the proposed by-laws when you get them. If you have any questions you can always reach me at (916)407-8279 (cell#).  We will send out notifications as soon as we have a ratification date.
