LOCAL 12 UPDATES
Posted June 26, 2026
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As I write this article, we are in the beginning of the summer push. Many of our contractors are reaching out for workers to complete school projects. We have emptied the out of work list and are signing up new apprentices. Our biggest challenge is finding skilled hands. Steve B., Anthony Nuanez and Edgar Flores are now reaching out to our retirees and dropped members to come back and fill this void. If you know of a brother or sister who is not working and has not put their name on the out of work list, please have them reach out to one of us.
As many of you know, the new San Francisco office, 65 Oak Grove Street is well under way with construction still on track, with a completion date in the last quarter of this year. This building boasts 16,000 square feet. With 8000 sq.ft. parking and 8000 sq.ft. of office space. It will be a brand-new union hall for our San Francisco local’s meetings and space for training opportunities on the weekends.
Last month, local 12 had a wage allocation vote for our last wage increase of this 4-year agreement. The allocation was for a $4.00 dollar wage increase effective January 1, 2027. The membership allocated $1.00 to wages, $1.00 to vacation pay, $1.00 to the annuity, $0.50 to H&W, $0.40 towards Market recovery, and $0.10 towards IUPAT administration dues check off. This puts our taxable net wage at $65.06 an hour, annuity at $12.05 an hour, vacation pay at $13.56 an hour and market recovery at $2.90 an hour. All of this is great news for floor layers and increasing your market recovery is the way to increase hours and keep the pension on the right track. Thank you to all who came out to vote and have their voices heard.
