Leave No Construction Worker Behind!

Posted May 29, 2020

Brothers and Sisters,

We have a very busy week ahead of us as we keep the work going to provide relief to members suffering lay-offs and hardship due to the ongoing pandemic, as well as, guidance for those going back to work. One thing that we know as Union members, anything that we have, we have to fight for!

Last week, the House voted in favor of the HEROES Act where it met considerable disregard from Sen. Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell. Though it was painted as a “liberal wish list” it contains many benefits for members of the IUPAT in terms of immediate and future relief.

As IUPAT members, we must continue to focus on what will benefit workers and help keep us financially stable in the next couple of months as the effects of this pandemic continue to impact and disrupt job opportunities for all of us.

In case you missed it, on Thursday GVPL Williams and Britton Loftin, IUPAT Government Affairs, broke down the pieces of the legislation that most stand to benefit IUPAT members as a whole. please click on link below.
