Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this article finds you and your family doing well and trying to deal with the unpredictable California weather. Recently you should have received in the mail your nominations and elections notice from District Council 16. If you have not received it, please call the office and let us know.

On May 5^th at the local 1237 Membership Meeting, we will have nominations for District Council 16 Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer, Local Union Business Representative, and Local Union Delegates. Elections for Business Manager Secretary and Local Union Business Representative on June 13^th at multiple locations. Election for local union delegates will be at the membership meeting in June. As I mentioned in my last article the results of the wage allocation effective January 1st, 2027, the Business Representatives have started working on the new wage schedules and hope to have them ready and available soon. On April 25th we had the annual IUPAT day of action, the Sacramento region did a neighborhood cleanup of governor circle. The volunteers were able to fill up a dumpster full of debris and even a few tires. After the cleanup, all the volunteers were treated to a well-earned lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers. I want to thank those of you who participated in the event and made it a wonderful day for giving back to the community. I would also like to thank Sacramento County Board of Supervisor Patrick Kennedy for coming out to the event, speaking to our members, and helping us clean up the neighborhood.

In the month of April, you should have received in the mail the Trust Fund Office Quarterly Newsletter, this is for the members and is put together by HS&BA. The newsletter will keep you informed of what is happening with your pension trust fund, annuity, health and welfare and any other news you need to know.

Just a reminder, Sunday May 10th is Mother’s Day. Make sure You celebrate the woman who not only gave you life but has put up with you for years. I want to thank Jackie Rojas for always being in my corner for 54 years and counting. Many of you have heard me say “my mother taught me better, but I didn’t listen” or “I know my mother would be ashamed of me, so let’s not tell her”, are both true so let’s not tell her, lol. Thank you mom for always being there for me and for unconditional love, I love you.
