It’s Not Your Work!

Brothers and sisters,

I hope this article finds you and your family doing well. Spring is almost here and the work is soon to follow. At the bottom of this article, I have listed several of the STAR’s classes in West Sacramento training facility and the STAR’s one-time qualifying class SCT1 that will be held at Tracy training facility. During some of the past Local 1237 membership meetings the DC-16 staff and myself have spoken about the United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) trying to claim our work. Recently on their website they have listed several training programs that they claim to have. Currently they are claiming floor covering, drywall finishing, electrical work and roofing. My job is to keep you the members informed and here is a link to the Trade Solidarity Coalition’s website:

Please Look it’s over and it clearly shows that the UBC is coming after our work! If you see the Carpenters doing your work or the work of another building trades craft, report it to your local union business representative immediately. If you or your fellow workers are approached by the UBC for any reason, tell them you are not interested and to contact your business representative. We need all local union members to stand together in solidarity, tell the Carpenters where to go and protect our work!
