It’s Almost Over

Posted December 3, 2021

It’s hard to believe that the year is almost over!  Well with that being said, I would like to introduce Local 1237’s new Administrator Puni Goforth.  Puni started in November and had previously worked as an Administrator for another trade union.  She is quick learner and is a great addition to the Sacramento office.

I would also like to report that brothers Tim Ringor and Mike Zapata have been appointed Members at Large by DC16 BM/ST Robert Williams III.  Brothers Tim and Mike have been long time members and are a welcomed addition to the Executive Board.

In 2022 there will be nominations and elections for all Executive Board, Business Representative and Business Manager-Secretary Treasurer.  Nominations will be held at the May union meeting and elections will be held in June (if necessary).  If you are considering running for a position, give me a call and we can talk about the position you are interested in and what the qualifications are.  Some of the qualifications are: you must be a member in good standing, no suspensions within the last 2 years and must have attended a quarter of the meetings.

With the year coming to an end, I’m going to take this time to thank the Local 1237 Executive Board for giving their time and talents to make sure the local runs efficiently.  Most members assume that I run the local and to a certain extent that would be true, but I do it with their direction and with the member’s best interest.  Every month during the Executive Board Meeting we go over the bills, finances, bank accounts and donation requests.  Nothing is presented to the members without going through the Executive Board first.  I would also like to thank those of you who have attended meetings.  Without you being involved it would make it hard to know what the members want.

As always you can reach me at (916)407-8279.

Fraternally,

Randy Rojas
