Glaziers Allocation Vote

The allocation vote is right around the corner. This year, we will have two options: one that is heavier toward the taxable net wage, and another that allocates more toward the annuity.

As you heard in the meeting, our leadership has asked that we set aside $0.75 to Health & Welfare. In addition, we are required by our constitution to allocate 5% of our raise toward the IUPAT Pension.

We have already held a joint Executive Board meeting, with nearly 40 of your representatives in attendance, where both options were discussed and agreed upon. These are the two options that will be presented to the membership.

A mailer will be going out soon with the exact date and details of the vote. Please make it a point to come out and participate—this is an extremely important decision for all of us.

Whether you need more money in your check with the rising cost of living, or you’re focused on growing your annuity for the future, both options reflect real priorities among the membership. Speaking personally, the annuity played a huge role in helping me buy my first home, and I’m not sure I would be where I am today without it. That said, I understand both sides, especially with how expensive things have become.
