Eleven 11 Sutter

After years of planning, road blocks, and government red tape, ground has been broken on 1111 Sutter street in San Francisco’s Lower Nob Hill Neighborhood. This new 22 story tower will feature 303 mixed-rate Housing units ranging from studios to 4-bedroom homes, 101 set at below market rate. The building will also feature a two-level fitness center, a public childcare center, dog park & courtyard with a landscaped roof top terrace for residents and will be built 100% UNION!

Mayor Lurie, Supervisor Danny Sauter, SF Building Trades Rudy Gonzalez, and members of the Devlopment Team Break ground on the project!

This project would not be possible without the tireless work put in by the San Francisco Building Trades Council and all the affiliate Unions. Reps from our Union and others spent countless hours attending Land Use Committee, Planning Committee & City Council Meetings to get the project passed, as well as lobbying local community groups and politicians to gain support. The Districts Supervisor Danny Sauter as well as the new Mayor Daniel Lauri have been major allies. Martin builders will be using Nibbi Brothers at the General Contractor.

Architect Rendition of Final Project

This Project is being funded by Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and the AFL-CIO  Housing Investment Trust (HIT) along with various other sources of funding.  HIT uses Union Pension Fund Money to invest into Housing in cities across America. This method strengthens our Pensions by investing in communities where our members live and work. The funds gain return on their investment from the project completion, and from the hours we work, It’s a Win Win! The investment from our Pensions ensure these projects are done All Union. So far Hit has funded 23 projects in the Bay Area, with many more across the country resulting in over 600,000 new housing units across the United States. HIT is a prime example of how we make our money work for us.
