Hermanos y Hermanas, 

I would like to congratulate all of our apprentices who successfully completed their apprenticeship in 2025.

On Saturday, July 18, the Finishing Trades Institute held its graduation ceremony at Scott’s Seafood in Oakland to recognize the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of these outstanding apprentices.

Completing an apprenticeship is a significant achievement. It represents years of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and a commitment to mastering our crafts while upholding the high standards of our trade. Through their dedication to learning and continuous improvement, these graduates have invested not only in their own futures but also in the future of our union.

Their training strengthens our workforce, adds value to our membership, and helps ensure that our union continues to provide the highly skilled, professional craftsmen and craftswomen that our signatory contractors and customers rely on. Every graduate represents another highly trained union member who will help uphold the quality, safety, and professionalism that define our trades.

Please take a moment to congratulate these new journey-level members if you see them on your jobsite. Your encouragement and recognition of their accomplishment reinforce the importance of apprenticeship and lifelong learning within our Brotherhood and Sisterhood.
