On May 19th, 2026, the Commercial and Industrial Painters overwhelmingly ratified their new contract proposal. Commercial Painters received a 4-year contract for $17.00 total to the Total Package.    Industrial & Bridge Painters received   a 4-year contract for $18.00 total to the Total Package. A huge thank you to all the painters across DC16 who came out ratify the contract proposal. Your participation, solidarity, and commitment to standing together as union brothers and sisters are what makes our union strong. Every member who showed up and made their voice heard played an important role in shaping the future of our trade and protecting the standards we fight for every day. This is what unity looks like, One Union, One Family, One Fight. Thank you for your dedication, your support, and your continued involvement in our union.

Join us this Saturday, May 30th from 8am-1pm for our Local 3 Marina Clean-up and Family Fun BBQ as we celebrate the amazing members of Local 3 for being awarded the “Solidarity Award” as presented by the Alameda Labor Council. 14001 Monarch Bay Dr. San Leandro. (San Leandro Marina). We will meet and pick up trash then immediately after we will begin our Family BBQ. There will be food, music, lots of fun and games for the children. On June 13, 2026, from 5am-5pm District Council 16 will be voting in a very important election. It is time to choose our next BM/ST.  Every voice matter, and every vote matters. Our union is strongest when our members stay involved, informed, and engaged in the process. Coming out to vote is one of the most important ways we can show unity, solidarity, and commitment to the future of our union and our trade. The decisions made today help shape the direction of tomorrow for all working men and women in DC16. Make your voice heard, stand alongside your brothers and sisters, and be part of the process. Strong participation shows the strength of our membership and the pride we have in our union.
