Death Benefit & Holiday Dinner

Posted November 18, 2022

Brothers and Sisters,

I wanted to give you an update on the Death Benefit. We have been informed that the amount for 2023 is only locked in until April 2023. We are currently in the process of getting the new rate that will be effective May 1, 2023 if renewed. The rate will most likely go up since many members have decided not to pay for the benefit. If the rate goes above $7.00 per month, per the Local 487 Bylaws, we will have a special called meeting to vote whether we keep or get rid of the Local 487 Death Benefit. We will be sending out a mailer with more information once we get it. Be on the look out for this important information.

With that being said, I am happy to announce that we will be having the Local 487 Holiday dinner on Friday December 16, 2022 at the VFW Hall located at 2784 Stockton Blvd Sacramento CA 95817. We will be sending out a postcard with info. We hope to see more members at this dinner, since we typically used to have it on our regular membership meeting night. Please call the Union Hall to RSVP by December 12, 2022 so we can get a better idea of how many people will be attending. Keep in mind that you must be in good standing with the Union to attend. You can bring your spouse and children, so please let us know how many will be coming.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

In Solidarity,

William Gonzalez.

33rd General Convention

The convention kicked off with a touching speech from our sister, who talked about how proud she is of her journey as an apprentice and the personal growth she’s experienced. We covered a lot about the challenges brought by COVID-19 and how IUPAT temporarily waived dues […]
