Posted November 8, 2021

For many, many year the locals in San Francisco  Painters & Tapers Local 913, Glaziers Local 718 and Carpet, Linoleum & Soft Tile Workers Local 12 have been renting or leasing out space in San Francisco but now they  have a place to call home, District Council 16 has purchased a two story building known as the former Sprig Electric building on 65 Oak Grove street ( you may have seen their sign off interstate 80), it has plenty of office space to house all three Locals, a huge Union Hall, office space for staff and underground level parking,  it will undergo some extensive remodeling creating work hours for not only  each of our finishing craft but other Trades as well this will show case the finishing crafts of District Council 16 Painters, Glaziers and Floor covers and what we do. so sometime in the middle of 2022 when your leaving San Francisco and crossing the Bay Bridge going toward Oakland or Sacramento be on the watch for a new DC 16 sign in full display taking the place of the old Sprig Electric sign for all to see.
