March 26, 2024Concord Residents We Need Help!
Posted August 11, 2021
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
If you are a Concord Resident only:
First off, thank you for sticking with us on
a fight to ensure that the Concord Naval Weapons Station (CNWS) is built
locally and built Union! We know it’s been a tiring multi-year process, but we
appreciate your diligence and willingness to stand up for what’s right for
Concord residents and fellow workers.
This coming August 21st, the Concord City Council will consider a master
developer to build the massive CNWS project. The City Council has already
adopted the following policies to guarantee the project benefits Concord
working families:
- 40% of the construction is to be performed by Concord and other local residents.
- There must be Apprenticeship training and employment for local youth and military veterans.
- Construction workers must be paid the area standard prevailing wage.
A PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT (PLA) IS THE ONLY WAY TO GUARANTEE THAT LOCAL FAMILIES REALIZE THESE BENEFITS!
Please click the following link, fill out your information, and click “Start Writing” to send a letter to the Concord City Council urging them that only developers who have entered into a PLA deserve to be considered. Thank you in advance for your commitment to labor solidarity.
