Brothers and Sisters,

The construction industry can be challenging and high paced. This combined with other problems we face can lead to substance abuse and even suicide. The suicide rate for construction workers is the highest among all industries in the United States. We also have the highest rate of substance use disorder, made worst by increased use of highly addictive pain killers. Now we have an opioid epidemic and fentanyl is killing people every day. That is why we are working together to get those in need of help, the resources they need to help cope with these issues. District Council has a program to help our members and their families through times like this. Remember that a lot of people are afraid to ask for help, so remember to look out for one another. If you or a family member is going through any of this, please call us so we can help. You can reach out to Troy at, or Samson at . The point of contact for the program is James Boster, he is the apprenticeship liaison for District Council 16 and is heading  up this program. If you want to get in contact with him, you can email him at .
