Santa Rosa City Schools Board voted to approve a Project Labor Agreement

The North Bay Building Trades, its affiliated local unions and the working women, men and families are pleased to announce that the Santa Rosa City Schools Board voted on 10/27/2021 to approve a Project Labor Agreement. This Agreement will allow taxpayer dollars to be used to build opportunity and equity right here in Sonoma County by keeping the taxpayer dollars used to fund construction local. Like the many successful Public-sector projects already built under PLA’s in the Sonoma County for the County of Sonoma, Santa Rosa Junior College, and the Sonoma County Superior Courthouse (currently under construction), this Agreement uses locally generated tax dollars to provide jobs that prioritize a locally based skilled and trained workforce and joint apprenticeship opportunities for local students, women, people of color and veterans. These joint apprenticeship opportunities will afford Santa Rosa students access to career pathway options that will provide family supporting wages, healthcare and retirement benefits, and the ability to live and work in the increasingly expensive place we all call home.
