Brothers and Sisters,
I hope this article finds you working and looking forward to the work that is on the horizon. I want to remind you that if you are not working you need to be on the Out of Work List, if you are an apprentice, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
ARTICLE 10
WAGES & CLASSIFICATIONS
(h) When an Apprentice is not worked by an Employer for three (3) consecutive working days (project or weather delays, Holidays, DDOs, and weekend excluded), the Apprentice has the right to put their name on the Out-of-Work List and seek their own employment with other signatory Employers. When Employment is ended by the Employer, the Employer shall provide the JATC with a separation notice. The notice shall be on documents provided by the JATC.
The STAR program is now offering several epoxy classes as of the first of the year. If you want to take a class, you must start with epoxy A and then follow the courses in succession. Please visit the STARs Floor Covering website here; https://dc16star.org/course-category/floor-covering/

If you want to qualify for the STAR Event you have to make sure that you have taken the one-time mandatory class SCT – Introduction to DC16 and Finishing Trades Associations. It is being offered at the Tracy Training Facility on May 5, 2026, from 7:00 to 3:30. The address for the Tracy Training Facility is 400 Gandy Dancer Dr, Tracy, CA 95377.
