Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this finds everyone doing well. I want to remind all members who are not working to remember to get on the out of work list although it may seem work is slow there is a lot of work coming up in Sacramento and there are companies hiring in the coming weeks especially for Drywall Finishers. Also, remember the list starts over at the beginning of the month so remember to call to keep your name on the list on the first day of the month. 

Painters, I have been getting a lot of questions about how the new raise will break down so here it is. Beginning January 1, 2027 the Commercial Painters will get $4.81 to the taxable net wage, $.50 to the Health and Welfare, $2.97 to the Pension and $2.20 to the Annuity. This is a total raise of $10.50 in the first year of your contract. This is the biggest raise the Painters have ever gotten. Congratulations you all deserve it!

Drywall Finishers, we had several contractors reach out with concerns about having only 1 point of dispatch. So we met with the Wall and Ceiling alliance to try to figure out a way to see if we could do something that would help them but also help our members. They ended up adding the members home as a point of dispatch for travel pay which would cost the employers an additional $.50 to the pension. This will help our Drywall Finishers immensely. The added $.50 would be a 14% increase from the current amount. If you want more information on this, please call me. The change is effective September 1, 2026 and will remain for the duration of the Agreement.

I also wanted to let everyone know we have begun to plan this years Annual Holiday Dinner. It will be on Saturday December 5 2026 at 5pm. I look forward to seeing you all there.
