I am happy to let you know that at the last Bay Area Painters and Tapers Pension and Annuity trustee meeting. It was voted to approve another improvement to the Pension. The trustees voted to increase the return on investment from a 1% return to a 3% return from 2025 back to 2003. This improvement is similar to the improvements that have happened over the last few years. This is awesome news for all. For those who have been here for a long time your pension pretty much tripled from what it would have been prior to 2020. For newer member, these changes are good because if these benefit increases continue the same way in the future it means you will be getting a good retirement. Make sure you go on the Bay Area Painters and Tapers website to look at your account to see where you are currently at. The website is https://bayareapainterstrust.org/. If you have never been on the website you will have to create an account. If you have more questions you can contact the Pension office at (866)894-3705.

Also, don’t forget, if you take 16 hours of DC 16 Training you will also get an additional $1.00 towards your pension. This will help you increase your benefit. Again. This will benefit you when you retire, and it will also benefit you now as you will have certifications required for jobsites.
