Expiration dates

Happy New Year Brothers and Sisters!

As we start the new year, I wanted to remind you to check the expiration dates on your required certifications, as Journey workers to have to have up to date certifications to receive a dispatch for work. I am hopeful work is going to pick up in 2026, and we need to be ready for when the phone rings to go to work. The following are the required certifications for dispatch per the Northern California Glaziers Master Agreement. 

 Section E. Continuing Education

  1. Each Journeyman Glazier shall annually obtain a minimum of sixteen (16) hours Glazier – trade and/or safety education training. The curriculum for such continuing education shall be established and provided by the STAR Program.
  1. Each Journeyman Glazier shall successfully complete and maintain safety training and possess a valid training card for the following:
  1. First Aid/CPR
  2. Booms & Lifts, including, Class 7 Telehandler
  3. OSHA-10 or OSHA-30
  4. Scaffolding/Swing Stage
  5. Fall Protection (USACE EM385)

  1. By January 1, 2023, and thereafter, all Journeymen Glaziers shall have the above required training and will provide proof of training. The Union shall not dispatch without proof of training.
