AI is Killing Us

Hermanos y Hermanas,
I hope this article finds you doing well and enjoying the MLB Playoffs, WNBA Playoffs, and the beginning of the NFL season. It’s a great time of year when the 49ers and the Raiders are currently 3 and 0. Work has been a little slow the past month, but several projects are getting ready to start. DCU (The State of CA) is looking for several journeymen and RJ, Inc. is also looking for a few installers. Recently I have been talking to members about the upcoming contract and what you guys want in it. So far, it seems that everyone is concerned about travel, the cost of fuel, and getting a hotel room for yourself. There are many other things that have been talked about but we must keep some things a secret. I urge you to come to the Membership Meeting on October 6., where we will continue our conversation. The DC16 Staff have been teaching the Building Union Power once a month at most of the union halls and if you haven’t attended it, I would ask that you do. We have several shops that don’t have a Shop Steward, if you would like to be considered you must attend this presentation. You will also have to attend the Shop Stewards Course.
Recently I have had two members text me and ask a question about our contract, then they both sent me a screen shot of what Google came up with, both examples couldn’t have been more wrong. Please don’t rely on AI to tell you what’s in your contract here is the link to the Northern CA CBA and the Sacramento Addendum.
If you have questions about your contract, please call me (916)407-8279.
