294 Update!

Hermanos y Hermanas,

            Hope today finds you well. Let’s start by wishing Local Union 294 a happy 125^. birthday. The Local reached that milestone on February 14^., 2026. We had a very productive year in 2025. The organizing department led by Brother Rosales in our jurisdiction and all Organizers in the jurisdiction of DC16 have really had great success in DC16’S ongoing repaint campaign. All of there hard work has created more hours for our membership throughout our jurisdiction and continues to do so in 2026. The service department and organizing department through collaborative efforts have signed many new contractors to our crafts collective bargaining agreements to include the signing of Tarlton and Son to our Nor Cal Painting and Drywall Master Agreements and all Addendums to the Master Agreements in December of 2025 and we are currently in communications with two additional contractors in the Fresno Area that are showing interest in becoming our partners. We have also signed Contractors to our agreements for the duration of projects being performed under a project labor agreement, all of these hours are very important for our members. We are currently in negotiations with State Center Community College on a project labor agreement for upcoming work at all of there four campuses.

That being said we have a very busy schedule moving forward. We are currently preparing for negotiations for Drywall Finisher and Painter Agreements in Northern California. If you are a Painter or Drywall Finisher, I strongly suggest that you attend your local Union meetings and stay informed on the process. Leadership from the IUPAT will be in our jurisdiction the second week of March we will be receiving training and doing member outreach during this timeframe. We also have an election this year for Business Manager Secretary Treasure, Business Representatives and DC16 Delegates and we have elections for Federal State and Local seats as well that will affect our ability to create hours for our members.

I strongly recommend that all members get engaged in the process through VAC to keep and add to Labor Friendly Politicians that help protect our rights to organize.
