{"id":9393,"date":"2022-08-01T12:03:46","date_gmt":"2022-08-01T19:03:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dc16iupat.org\/?p=9393"},"modified":"2022-08-01T12:03:47","modified_gmt":"2022-08-01T19:03:47","slug":"good-for-another-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dc16iupat.org\/es\/good-for-another-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Good for Another Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brother and Sister\u2019s,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope this is article finds you and your loved ones enjoying your summer.\u00a0 Work has been very busy and if you are not working let me know.\u00a0 With so much work, if you know of someone who does floor covering and is looking to get into the union or if you know someone wants to get into the trade, please have them call me.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This past Wednesday the members of Local 1237 voted on a one-year contract and it was ratified with 47 yes votes and 3 no votes.\u00a0 Here is the details and where the money is going;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Contract proposal:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1-year contract for $4.00 per hour increase. Equaling a 5.83% increase to the total package.<\/li><li>Adoption of IUPAT Alt Plan 2 Rehabilitation Plan. Below is the language added to the contract;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Article 19, Section 2 (b) IUPAT Industry Pension Fund<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The employer and the Union herby agree to the continuation of the existing IUPAT Industry Pension Fund (\u201cNational Pension Fund\u201d).\u00a0 Effective January 1, 2022, and each year thereafter, the IUPAT Pension contribution called for in this Agreement shall increase by a minimum of five percent (5%) of the total negotiated increase in wages and benefits for the year.\u00a0 The five percent (5%) increase to the pension shall be taken from the aforementioned increase.\u00a0 Such increase will be rounded up to the nearest penny.\u00a0 The Union shall notify the Employers of the new pension rate as they occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 14, 2022, the Pension Fund elected to enter \u201cRed Zone\u201d status, requiring the adoption of a Rehabilitation Plan.\u00a0 The Rehabilitation Plan provides bargaining parties the opportunity to elect between two proposed \u201calternate schedules\u201d of contributions and benefits or to accept the Rehabilitation Plan\u2019s Default Schedule.\u00a0 The parties to this Agreement hereby elect \u201cAlternate 2\u201d and adopt the following required increases to hourly Pension Fund contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Effective August 1, 2022, there shall be an increase of twenty percent (20%) above the existing hourly contribution rate of $1.17 as of January 1, 2022.
