Sindicato Local 159 de Pintores y Oficios Afines \u2013 Las Vegas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n El Local 159 se enorgullece de reconocer Christopher Vincent<\/strong> as our Miembro del mes de julio de 2025<\/strong> \u2014 un hermano sindicalista trabajador, motivado y centrado en la comunidad que ejemplifica lo que significa vivir los valores de nuestro oficio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n La trayectoria sindical de Chris comenz\u00f3 con una simple conversaci\u00f3n que le cambi\u00f3 la vida. Mientras trabajaba como obrero en el proyecto Treasure Island de AGC, se dio cuenta de que los pintores del proyecto hac\u00edan un trabajo similar, pero ganaban el doble. Tras mostrar inter\u00e9s, varios pintores sindicalizados lo animaron a unirse al programa de aprendizaje. Se lanz\u00f3, sin conocer a nadie, y se comprometi\u00f3 a dejar que su \u00e9tica laboral hablara por s\u00ed sola. Y as\u00ed fue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris comenz\u00f3 su aprendizaje como pintor industrial con Olson Precast<\/strong>, donde la gerencia inmediatamente vio potencial en \u00e9l. Olson incluso lo patrocin\u00f3 para un curso NACE \u2014una oportunidad \u00fanica para un aprendiz nuevo\u2014 porque cre\u00edan en su talento y dedicaci\u00f3n. Aunque la pintura industrial no era su pasi\u00f3n, Chris valor\u00f3 la experiencia y la utiliz\u00f3 como un trampol\u00edn para convertirse en un profesional integral cuando posteriormente se pas\u00f3 a la pintura comercial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n A lo largo de su aprendizaje, Chris apreci\u00f3 la s\u00f3lida mentor\u00eda que recibi\u00f3 de oficiales experimentados como Adolf<\/strong> y Charlie<\/strong>, junto con muchos otros que se sacrificaron para ense\u00f1arle y apoyarlo. A menudo reflexiona sobre la suerte que tiene de aprender de miembros con m\u00e1s experiencia que a\u00f1os de vida, algo que considera una de las mayores fortalezas de la hermandad sindical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n En 2025, Chris se clasific\u00f3 con orgullo para su primer STARs Picnic<\/strong>, un hito que refleja su compromiso con el aprendizaje continuo y el crecimiento personal. Ha cursado varias clases de STARs, incluyendo Bazooka Training<\/strong>Esto le ayud\u00f3 a comprender mejor el trabajo de otros artesanos del Local 159 y la habilidad necesaria para un desempe\u00f1o de alto nivel. Afirma que estas clases profundizaron su respeto por el oficio en general y lo convirtieron en un mejor compa\u00f1ero y artesano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond the jobsite, Chris has been an active and enthusiastic member of the Volunteer Committee<\/strong>. From building the St. Patrick\u2019s Day float<\/strong> and walking in the parade to helping set up the Easter party<\/strong>, he\u2019s passionate about building community and giving back. He especially enjoys events like Cowabunga Bay<\/strong>, where members and their families can come together, relax, and connect on a personal level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris has also been a dedicated participant on the Local 159 softball team<\/strong>, representing our union in the Southern Nevada Building Trades Softball Tournament<\/strong>. Even when participation was low, Chris pushed hard to keep the team going and ensure Local 159 had a strong presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n For Chris, the motto “High Performance, High Value”<\/strong> isn\u2019t just a slogan \u2014 it\u2019s a way of life. Whether on the job, at home as a soon-to-be husband and father, or in his community, he strives to be a little better each day. \u201cIt means going above and beyond,\u201d he says, \u201cpushing yourself to be perfect or better than you were yesterday.\u201d He believes this commitment is what sets union workers apart \u2014 not just the quality of work, but the unity, support, and pride that come with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Reflecting on his time working non-union jobs, Chris says he never saw the same level of quality, mentorship, or community that he\u2019s found in Local 159. \u201cThe wages and benefits are great \u2014 especially having health insurance and not having to stress about it \u2014 but the real value is the people,\u201d he says. \u201cThe union has changed my life. It\u2019s more than just a job. It\u2019s a family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris is especially grateful for the recognition as July\u2019s Member of the Month and is excited to start a new chapter in his career with an opportunity at the Nevada Test Site<\/strong>. Local 159 is proud to have members like Chris \u2014 individuals who are passionate, committed, and always looking to lift others up. His participation in STARs, VC, and union events shows his dedication to being a true union brother, both on and off the job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Congratulations, Chris Vincent!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Your work ethic, character, and leadership set a shining example for all of us at Local 159.
